His mother having passed away while he was too young to remember, his only parent is his father Kirihiko, who works in the Mishima Economic District most days as a manager for the Mishima Corporation. As such, he tended to spend his days, when he wasn't at school or watching anime, helping others out, or hanging with a group of friends at an old shed he'd found in the woods one day. While he was close to his friends in the past, he was closest to one Hanako Saihara, his next door neighbor. Rumours had gone around the community that Satoshi and Hanako were, if not already together, then on the verge of, due to being so close. He and his friend group wandered around Iwatodai and the surrounding forests, as one might have expected of children. Two years ago, after Satoshi and his friends gathered in the woods one summer afternoon, Hanako disappeared, despite the best attempts of her friends to find her. Hanako was found later that week, dead, by the banks of the river. While Hanako's family grieved for her, especially her brother Kousei and her father Kaito, some said Satoshi took it hardest of all. For weeks, Satoshi was nowhere to be seen outside. His friend group eventually broke apart from the strain of what happened to Hanako, and after a while, Satoshi managed to bring himself back to the world, throwing himself into helping out others as he had before. He brushed off any questions about Hanako, simply shrugging them off with a smile. Despite no longer seemingly having his old friend group by his side, Satoshi, to all the rest of the world, seemed to have moved on from the loss of Hanako, despite how close the two had seemed to be. Personality-wise, Satoshi is an earnest young man, always quick to smile and with a cheerful demeanour, with a reputation for keeping his word. While clumsy at times, and not the most intelligent, Satoshi tries his best to understand others, and puts the needs of others before his own. He takes well to hanging out with others, even strangers, and is fairly outgoing. He is the type of person who would solve an issue by talking and reconciliation; never has anyone known him to even raise his fist against others, or even get angry; rather than defend someone else with his fists, he would put his own body on the line.
